Amsterdam-in

It is one more day until we leave for vacation. And I will give you one guess as to where we are going. Give up? AMSTERDAM (and Holland in general).  I have wanted to go to Amsterdam for years and years. One of my favorite books is The Diary of Anne Frank, and I've always felt a strong connection to Anne, so I've always wanted to see the Secret Annex where she and her family hid during WWII. But it's not like the Secret Annex is the only thing Amsterdam & Holland has to offer.

We will be canal cruising. Going to see Holland's famous tulips at the Keukenhof Gardens (on my birthday none the less). Eating lots of cheese, chocolates, and Dutch pancakes. I want to see some Windmills and buy some wooden shoes!  And for some odd reason that I don't understand Adam wants to have a beer at a Dutch Mcdonald's! We may even sneak off to have a little peak at the red light district out of curiosity.

I just can't wait. Seriously.  And Adam can't wait either. But he is not as excited as me because he is so scared of flying! So I think it borders on spousal abuse that I'm making him fly internationally!! I've been overseas a few times but he never has. I'm trying to drug him with sleeping pills for the flight, but he says he wants to be alert in case the plane crashes. HA. I promised him that if the plane started to crash, he would be alert, no matter what medicine he had taken. Well, I promise I will be sleeping during the flight because I want to be ready to go, go, go when we land  the next morning.

So just out of curiousity, if you could go anywhere in the world, and money and time wasn't an issue. Where would you want to go and why?

  1. Antarctica! Honestly, how many people do you know that go there? Not that many, its so expensive. I just want to see the pure, natural beauty of the continent. I want to see all the wildlife and jump into the antarctic ocean, or camp outside in a tent for a night. Its most definitely an adventurous trip but you only live once right? :)
