The Weekend Report

We kicked off our weekend with brunch at Cracker Barrel. French Toast and Blueberry pancakes, is there anything better? Afterwards, we stopped by Cato's because I wanted to buy a new outfit, since I've bought nothing new for a while, and I was going to a play later that night.  I loved the outfit I bought, it is very retro.

Adam and I have been badly in need of a new furniture set for our living room, but we weren't ready to "buy".  So before heading home we stopped by our local furniture store, just to look and price things out. But of course they were having a 20% off sale, and of course we found a set that we loved. So we we walked out having bought a completely new living room set. To be delivered Thursday! Thank goodness. I think our very cheap set that we bought before we were even married has served us well, but it is ready to GO.

For Christmas, Adam bought me a ticket to see Beauty and the Beast (the Broadway play). He wanted me to have really good seats, so he only bought one. I am perfectly fine with that, I never mind flying solo.  The play was SOO good. So funny, so beautiful, and magical. I found myself crying at the end, the little girl next to me glanced up at me as if I was nuts!

Maybe I can blame my emotional outburst on the cocktail I was drinking? It was called the, "Beast," and it is a mixture of fireball whiskey, ginger ale, and grenadine.

This Sunday has been absolutely LAZY. I worked on Project Life, took a couch nap, and now I am watching some Dr. Who with Adam. A great end to a great weekend!

Around the House

I FINALLY got my storage system for my Pocket Scrapbooking cards from Stamp n' Storage. It didn't take that long to get here honestly, but I've been spoiled by Amazon Prime! I love it so much. It's made from a lovely birch & sturdy and handsome. Even though I was tired after work, I made all my label cards (which I did by adding tabs to grid cards), and put them in the slots! I feel this will make finding the "perfect" cards a lot easier!

Adam has recently gotten into Lego Dimensions and Disney Infinity. He put these figurines on top of the entertainment center! HA. I don't know how I feel about this, but they are pretty darn cute. #gamerwifeproblems

I bought this Beauty & the Beast cup, "Chip," at the little Beauty & the Beast store next to Gaston's Tavern in Magic Kingdom. I loved it so much, that I couldn't bare to drink from it. I'm using it to hold utensils in my craft room. With this addition, this is my new favorite corner in the house!

Adam's Aunt Ronda gave us this blanket she had made for us at Christmas. It is made of clothing from Adam's grandmother. It is such a wonderful gift and a great way to remember this wonderful lady. Super warm too, that is a plus!

Project Life 2016: Week 4

You see how that bottom right picture says week 5? Ignore that. I'm going to reprint the picture and take that off. Disney got me all kinds of confused, and I miscounted my weeks. Oh well! So this is just week 4.

I really enjoyed putting together this layout. It is full of everyday moments. Such as our little family hanging out in the living room, the cupcakes used to celebrate a coworker's birthday, my weekly trip to the grocery store, and a picture of me working in my life planner.

I also included a picture of Adam enjoying his gift I brought him back from Disney (a Chewbacca hoodie), a picture of our home in snow, and a picture of our homemade pizza from Friday night dinner.

I just loved how all the colors came together.

The Weekend Report

This has been such a lazy weekend. I haven't left the house since Friday. We got a little bit of a Winter Storm here Friday afternoon and evening. It melted by noon the next day, but it was pretty while it lasted. And when we let Link out while it was snowing, he totally spazzed out. He loved it!

We made homemade pizza Friday night and watched some of our current favorite shows on netflix.  And I started a monster craft room organization project, which lasted all weekend. I have all kinds of geeky excitement about getting my hobby room organized. Recently, I bought a pocket card storage unit, and it will come in this week.

But that means I had to organize all my pocket cards. I broke down all my studio calico kits, and sorted cards by color or event/holiday. It took me something like two hours, but it was worth it. It is going to make my scrappin' process easier (I hope).

I also organized my embellishments by type and put them into seperate containers. And I managed to throw out a whole trash bag full of stuff I wasn't going to use. I love decluttering, it gives me a weird high.

I ended the weekend going for a 6 mile run. 6 miles feels easy peasy compared to a full marathon! An hour and a half compared to 6 plus hours? I'll take it.

WDW Roomie Trip 2016 Recap: Part Five

I woke up early on my last day in Florida and dropped off my luggage at the front desk, and headed to Epcot for a solo day. I really love Epcot, and although it is not my favorite park, it is the best FOOD park in my humble opinion.

I spent the early morning hours in Epcot riding the rides (Test Track & Exploring the Seas with Nemo & Friends). I did a few new rides (Living with the Land & Journey into Imagination with Figment). Figment is so freakin' adorable.

I spent the rest of the day in my favorite part of Epcot, World Showcase. I started the tour eating Fish n' Chips from Yorkshire County Fish Shop in the England Pavilion. I stopped in Morocco and met Princess Jasmine. I had a long conversation with her actually due to no lines. I told her how when I was a little girl, I would sit on the swings with my first "boyfriend," and we would sing "A Whole New World," to each other. She said she would share that with Aladdin!

I spent some time in America listening to the Voices of Liberty (beautiful), and then caught the American Adventure show (impressive). I stopped off for ice cream in France, and shopped all the fun merchandise in Japan (I should have bought some Zelda stuff)! I did the silly boat ride in Mexico, before catching the bus to get back to the resort, and then boarding the Magical Express shuttle to the airport.

I was so sad to leave, but it was such a great week, full of accomplishment and fun! I can't wait till next years trip!

WDW Roomie Trip 2016 Recap: Part Four

I was so excited for our second day in the Parks because it was my first chance to tour Animal Kingdom! We started the day with a character breakfast at Tusker House. It had a nice brunch spread, and it was so fun hanging out with Mickey, Daisy, Donald, and Goofy in their safari gear! Daisy was seriously the sweetest, and just for a fun I had them sign my marathon race bib as a keepsake.

Once we finished up breakfast, we were on our way to Expedition Everest, when we spotted Russell & Dug. It was such a fantastic meet n' greet! Dug kept sniffing me, and he licked my autograph book! When I asked where Kevin was, Russell motioned that he flew away for the winter.

We headed over to Expedition Everest, but it was temporarily down (boo)! So instead we rode Primeval Whirl (Fun) and Dinosaur twice (Reminded me somewhat of Indiana Jones in Disneyland, loved it).

After spending a while in Dinosaur land, Expedition Everest was up and running again. I can't believe how fun that ride is, it may be the best thrill ride in Disney world! The way it goes forwards and backwards and the incorporation of the Yeti is truly awesome. It was so fun, we rode it twice!

Next, we hung out with Pocahontas for a bit. And apparently Pocahontas wears UGG boots when it is cold in the winter (LOL). I had to laugh, because Pocahontas informed us that it must be a very long canoe ride from Alabama. Too funny. My favorite thing about characters is their refusal to break character. No matter what.

We did the It's Tough to Be a Bug show and rode Kilimanjaro Safaris. We saw Hippos, Lions, Giraffes, and Zebras! Oh my.

I really loved Animal Kingdom, such a charming park. There is still so much left to do there.

Jana was leaving to go home late that afternoon, so we headed back to the resort to get her on the Magical Express to the airport.  I waited with her until the bus came, and we posed for our traditional, "Our Disney trip is over" sad selfie.

After she left, I spent the evening packing, so I would be ready for my last day in the parks and my departure home the next day. I ate the famous Pop Century Tye Dye Cheesecake from the hotel food court, and I went to bed super early.

I was excited for Epcot the next day!

WDW Roomie Trip 2016 Recap: Part Three

(I so hate that my bag is in this picture. Otherwise, it would be perfect)

Can I say how excited I was to wake up Monday morning, having the marathon behind me, and be hitting the Magic Kingdom with the bestie? WAY too excited. Magic Kingdom is definitely my favorite park! But if you think I slept well following running the marathon and having been awake since 2:30 a.m., you would be mistaken. I guess I was HIGH on life because I woke up frequently, I even did some online shopping about 4 a.m. (yay, Amazon Prime).

The excitement of going to my happy place once the alarm went off, powered me through the day. And I was less sore than I anticipated. So that is a plus.

Jana and I were excited to see Magic Kingdom still had SOME of its Christmas decorations out (I posed for a picture with this Nutcracker for the sole purpose of sending it to my niece, who is terrified of nutcrackers HA). And of course, seeing the castle is never anything less than breathtaking for hardcore Disney park fans.

We started our day with breakfast at Be Our Guest (the open face bacon sandwich was to die for, we talked about that all day long).  We knocked out a bunch of rides early, with hardly any wait times (Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Mad Tea Party, Little Mermaid, Pirates, Space Mountain, and Peter Pan's Flight). I did the Carosel of Progress & Barn Stormer for the first time, and we got to do the Christmas version of the Jungle Cruise.  We also did all our favorite rides in the afternoon (Haunted Mansion x 2 and Big Thunder Mountain).

The highlights of this trip were catching the Festival of Fantasy Parade, meeting Rapunzel, eating a Mint Chocolate Chip Cookie Ice Cream sandwich, riding the railroad, and seeing Wishes as it is intended to be seen (right in front of the castle).

But believe it or not, one of the best moments of the day happened on the bus ride back to the resort. After a 12 hour day in the Magic Kingdom, crammed on a bus full of people (who were all overly tired), Bohemian Rhapsody came on the radio. And as if on que, after the line, "and if I'm not back again this time tomorrow," everyone burst into song. And we all sang along and laughed and laughed and laughed.

I don't know maybe you had to be there, but it was kind of magical.
