The Weekend Report

I had a pretty good weekend this week, as it is was one of the first weekends I finally started to feel a bit better, have a little energy, and not be in pain post excess skin removal surgery (I really need to do post all about that, since I haven't had an easy go at it, at all).

Adam left early Saturday morning with Linkee to go spend Thanksgiving with his family in Wisconsin. It's a long story, as to why I'm not going. But no one need worry about me, since I will be spending it with some friends. But I will miss him dearly. 

On Saturday, my friend Lark and I had made a date to go to the Gingerbread Market in Huntsville, which was a big, Christmas shopping marketplace. And it was such an enjoyable morning. First of all, every time Lark and I get together we talk a million miles a minute and seem to have so much to catch up on.

Second of all, the market was big and had such cute stuff.

I ended up buying two wooden door hangers. I'm kind of in love with cotton fields, and I thought the cotton ball that said, "Welcome," is so very perfect for fall. And then I got the cute fox for the Winter months. 

We both got these Mad Scientist candles. What was so interesting about them is once the wax burns, you can blow out the candle, and then use the wax as a lotion! So cool. 

We of course got some treats. There was the always delicious Piper & Leaf tea in Cherry Christmas flavor. I also got this super moist and creamy Pecan Praline bundt cake. Soo amazing.

The outing wore me out for sure, and I spent the rest of Saturday napping.

Sunday, I managed to get a little crafting done which felt good, as I haven't had much energy to spare lately. I made a page for my November Project Life spreads. I love the Homespun studio calico kit sooo much.

I also started on my 2018 "All About My Selfie" album. I made a title page, and I made a page about my goals for 2018.

Some where between all that, I watched a million classic episodes of Survivor, stayed up way too late, and cleaned up my craft room.

I have a little bit of Sunday night blahs. But I'm happy to have a really short work week, and I'm ready for Thanksgiving.

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

On our last day of our trip to Disneyworld, we visited the Magic Kingdom with the whole family, and then Adam and I had tickets to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party that evening (which is a hard ticket event). I was so excited, I have wanted to attend this party since I first heard about it.

I also wanted to note that this was the day of the three outfit changes for Adam and me. Adam insisted we wear our Packer's jerseys (since it was a Sunday and a game day)! And then we posed for family portraits with our matching shirts.I also bought Nightmare before Christmas shirts to wear for the party.

I would be lying if I said I grew up loving The Nightmare Before Christmas. I'll be honest, it seems kind of "out there" and a little crazy to me, when I was younger. But as I watched it as I got older, I was so in love with it! My number one character meet and greet goal at the Halloween Party was Jack & Sally. I even wore this headband to the party.

We waited over an hour for the privilege to meet these two. And I just did not even care, I love a good character meet and greet. Plus, while we were in line, we were monitoring the Packers/Chargers game. And that was one crazy game, that kept Adam entertained. Everyone in line kept asking us about the score during the game!

When it was finally our turn, I was pretty pumped. Jack & Sally had a completely creepy way of walking over to greet us. Sally loved my headband, and she asked if I made it myself (I WISH). Who knows what Adam was talking to Jack about, probably the Packer's game. Before we left, Sally told me that she hoped that me and my beloved got to stroll through the graveyard together before the evening was over.  

Next, we got down to the main event, trick or treating. I haven't gone trick or treating since I was about 18 (when my friends and I went as joke). So now at age 29, I got to trick or treat at Disneyworld! 

We got so much candy. But poor Adam, he is so picky, and very rarely would he get any candy that he liked! We would see them handing out candy he liked, but when they would scoop up some candy from the barrels, he got none of it. It did become a running joke between us.

We got a seat in frontier land for the Boo to You parade. It was the highlight of the whole party for me! It started out with the headless horsemen, which was awesome. Then the most infectious song played throughout the entire parade, "Boo to you and you and you." I loved the grave diggers and the hitch hiking ghosts. I wish I could watch it again and again.

We were pretty beat after the parade, although we did manage to  go for a spin on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. I have never ridden it at night, which is a totally different experience.

We headed back to the hotel, watching Hallowishes from the monorail. I would have loved to see the whole thing castle side,  but we had a long drive home the next morning.  I think it is good to leave some things undone, it gives you a reason to come back!

Family Reunion in Disneyworld

Back in October, Adam and I drove down to Orlando for a whirlwind, Family Reunion trip to Disneyworld. And it was a big one! There was our nieces-Cassie, Kayla, Kayla's Husband Andy, Cassie's best friend, our nephew Caden, and the parents who adopted him (that's a LONG story), Jason & Lori.

And yes, I love Disney, and yes it's my favorite place ever! But truly this trip was just about getting to see family. I actually haven't seen Caden in three years, and he was was 2 at the time, so he didn't remember us from the trip. And I was really feeling sad about that, and ready to see him now that he would remember us.

There are so many things I will remember from this trip. Our family matching shirts, spinning till we almost puked in the teacups with Caden, Kayla freakin out about almost every ride (especially the Tower of Terror), Cassie belting out every lyric at the Frozen Sing Along, and just all the laughs we had in general. 

I drank tea with Alice at 1900 Park Fair and got the best hug from Sully. Also Adam and I attended Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party (another post on that later, it was EPIC). 

It was so worth the time and money spent to make these memories happen!
