Awards from Uncle Adam
On Friday, we put our nieces on a plane back to Texas after a fabulous week with them. After we dropped them off, Adam went on to work and I went home and took a four hour nap, only to stumble out of bed for a few short hours before returning. I was exhausted! Still am. But I can't tell you how much fun we had with the girls. We spent the week taking them to new places, playing Mario Kart (very competitively), watching movies, and laughing non-stop.

For our first day of vacation, we drove down to Hollywood. We walked the "Walk of Fame," and tested our feet and hands in the cement blocks outside of Grauman's Chinese Theatre. As you can see, Cassie fit perfectly in Donald Duck's shoes. I was also excited because on this trip I finally found Marilyn Monroe's hand prints! After doing the "Hollywood" thing, we grabbed some lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe. While we were there, Adam ran out and bought us some surprise faux Oscar awards that proclaimed me "Best Wife" and them "Best Nieces." It was so delightfully cheesy.  We loved them.

After lunch, we grabbed some fresh cookies for dessert at the Nestle Toll House Cookie shop (so warm and delicious). And we had some fun shopping at the Hollywood & Highland Plaza. (Although it was a slightly too rich for our blood, and we soon made our way to a much cheaper mall later that afternoon).  After shopping, we took a quick drive to Beverly Hills, just to see how the other half lives, and to take so pictures of course. All in all it was an awesome first day! To view all of my Hollywood pictures you can check out my flickr set here.
