Disneyworld 2015 Trip recap: Part 4

When we got up on Monday morning, it was time to hit the parks for the first time! We were headed over to Hollywood Studios for the day (formerly MGM Studios). I just love this selfie Jana and I snapped while waiting for the bus to come get us. We look so happy, and we were!! I wore my medal almost all day at the Studios, and it was fun to get the congratulations from everyone #humblebrag.

The first thing we did when we got there was do a little mini photo shoot with some of the icons of Hollywood Studios. Everyone knows, Brittany has to have her pictures!

Our first ride of the day was Rockin' Roller Coaster. Rockin' Roller Coaster is like Space Mountain. It is a dark ride, but has bright colors inside and Aerosmith songs are blasted. It was really fun, and a good thrill ride to start the day. Just look at our faces, especially Austin's. He looks sooo terrified!

Our next two rides were The Great Movie Ride and Toy Story Midway Mania. The Great Movie Ride takes you through scenes from classic movies, and it combines audio animatronics with real actors. It even has a storyline. My favorite scene was Mary Poppins, of course. What a beautiful ride.

Next up, we headed over to Pixar Place for Toy Story. I loved this virtual shooter game, it was like being in a real life arcade game. Jana and I took on the boys in a friendly competition, which was a really bad idea, because they smoked us. I don't know why we thought we had a chance to win, they have a lifetime of gamer experience, and we only have a few levels of old school Mario under our belts.

We headed over to the Magic of Animation building after the Toy Story ride so we could meet Baymax and Hiro! I have talked a lot about how much I love the movie Big Hero 6, so I was particularly excited to meet Baymax.

The line wasn't long, but it took us about an hour because Baymax would take frequent breaks (I'm thinking he needed to go recharge, ha ha ha). It was actually the longest we waited for anything all trip. But so worth it. When Baymax took breaks, Hiro came out and talked to everyone. And I love the picture of him and Adam talking, it looks like Adam is scolding Hiro! Hiro acts like a 14 year old boy, even though it was obvious he wasn't. He said he was taller in real life because the camera took 5 inches off him.

When it was finally our turn to meet Baymax, I was thrilled to hug him! He was surprisingly soft! Afterwards, both Jana and I bought a stuffed Baymax. One of my favorite souvenirs from the trip. He has been chilling with Adam and me in bed every night.

Next up was Star Tours. Star Tours is Adam's favorite ride ever, he rode it again and again in Disneyland when we went those two times. We actually had a fast pass later on in the day for it, but we had a little bit of time to kill before lunch. So we hopped on it really quick. We also rode it again after lunch. Then when the girls separated from the guys later on in the day, they rode it 4 more times.  It's a great ride, but for me personally, twice in one day is enough.

For lunch, we had reservations at the Sci-Fi Dine In restaurant. The restaurant looks pretty cool inside. It is like spending the evening at a 1950's drive-in theater. You sit in cars and watch really cheesy horror movie clips from old movies. We really enjoyed our time there. I wouldn't say the food is amazing, but it is good enough (I rather liked Adam's Oreo Shake). The atmosphere is what makes it worth it. Plus, a nice break after a busy morning was much needed.

I was originally going to blog our whole day at the studios in one post, but since this is getting long, I'll finish up this day in the next one. So you know just ten more recap posts and 15 scrapbook posts to go, and I will be done with blogging about this trip. Hang in there folks, I'm not going overboard documenting this vacation at all. #sarcasm
