Excited About:  My upcoming 10K, Running with the Goats, in Elkmont, Alabama. I'm hoping to be able to run the whole thing, but I am not putting any pressure on myself. My only goal is to run what I've already been able to run in training!

Watching: Some of my favorite summers shows are back and I am so excited y'all! Big Brother and The Next Food Network Star are pretty much dominating the DVR right now. I am also watching some Sister Wives and The Real Housewives of Orange County.

Listening To: I'm still listening to more podcasts than music right now. But I do currently have a few favorite songs. In the country realm, I like Drunk on a Plane by Dierks Bentley and American Kids by Kenny Chesney. In other genres, I'm all about Boom Clap by Charli XCX and Problem by Ariana Grande.

Reading: I just finished all 700+ pages of The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World 2014 by Bob Sehlinger and Len Testa. Hey, I gotta be super prepared for our Disney Trip. I also need to get on And I'm Afraid of my Dreams by Wanda Poltawska for book club next month.

Working On: We are ever so slowly starting to pack up our stuff into boxes, although we are not moving in till August. We are also taking time to purge our stuff. I do love that process of moving & getting rid of the stuff that we no longer need. It makes my little clutter hating self happy.

Loving: The website wayfair, I am finding such cute decor items on that site. Chic-fil-a grilled nuggets and diet lemonade. It gives me a fast food option I can "indulge" in.

Recent Buys:  An over sized vintage map of Amsterdam for the decor in our future master bedroom. Anchor drawer pulls for the dresser that will be going in our guest room. The Lego Movie.

Thankful For: A treadmill to run on when it's too hot. A four day work week with a three day weekend. That summer day treatment is half way over. Hooray.

Excited About:  My W girls and their guys coming in to stay the weekend with us for Memorial Day. We have so many fun things planned, but not only that we laugh so hard and so much when we are all together. That is what we need most of all.

Watching: I am actually watching the classic 101 Dalmatians Disney Film. I guess doing the Disney Run has revived my love for all things Disney. I've been collecting all the classics, and I have been enjoying watching them. I'm at that touching scene where the puppy almost dies (spoiler alert: he survives). I can't wait to share these movies with my future children.

Listening To: I have not been listening to a lot of music lately, but I am listening to a lot of audiobooks. I do admit to liking Talk Dirty to Me by Jason Derule (I can't help it, that beat is infections) and also Team by Lorde.

Reading: I am currently reading Still Life with Bread Crumbs by Anna Quindlen for book club, which I am really enjoying so far. Which is a surprise to me because I don't read a whole lot of fiction! I've also been thumbing through a Walt Disney Travel Guide, just so I can plan the perfect trip.

Working On: I keep making wish list boards on Etsy for how I want to decorate our eventual home. I have a guest room board with all things nautical, and I have an office board with all things yellow & grey. I just can't wait till we are home owners so we can decorate.

Loving: That in just two weeks I get to start spending Friday afternoons hanging out at Point Mallard, lazing about the Lazy River.  Doing my daily devotional every morning. Watching Fargo with Adam and laughing about all the funny accents.

Recent Buys:  The 101 Dalmatians Movie and also Aladdin. This race metal holder to display my race ribbons. This beautiful print for my office. Broccoli and Cheese soup from Quiznos. Yum.

Thankful For: Oversized sweat pants to laze around in. Springtime scents from scentsy.  Vanilla Cake Batter Protein Powder. Having a clean home.

Happy Memorial Weekend, everyone!

Excited About: That I am approaching having lost 100 pounds since my surgery (not even 4 months out).  Adam's 30th birthday, my 28th birthday (how did that happen) weekend that we are spending in Nashville doing the 5k Foam Fest.

Watching: I hate myself for admitting this, but I spent all day yesterday watching that darn Lindsay Lohan Documentary on OWN. I don't even like Lindsay or  OWN, but it was oddly compelling. I'm also way into the Real Housewives of Orange County and the current season of Call the Midwife right now.

Listening To: I really love Lea Michelle's CD Louder, especially the songs Empty Hearted & Cue the Rain. Still Obsessed with the Showtunes station on Pandora. And how did I just discover the song You and I by Lady Gaga?

Reading: I recently finished reading Killing Jesus by Bill O'Reilly, which I loved because it was a historical look at Jesus's life and death. I learned a lot about the politics in Israel at the time, as well as Cleopatra and Julius Caesar. I also read Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris recently, not as good as Holidays on Ice, but pretty darn awesome. I'm currently reading 12 Years a Slave, the true story behind the movie. I'm also about to start reading Whiskey Beach by Nora Roberts for book club.

Working On: I have been brainstorming and googling  projects like crazy that I can do with my group of kids during summer day treatment. Yes, it is that time of year you guys! Summers at work are always super hectic, but in a weird way I'm kind of looking forward to it. Or at least looking forward to getting it over with.

Loving: All this Springtime weather and the trees looking like popcorn. And being able to air out the apartment by keeping the windows open.  Unflavored protein powder in Orange Juice, I can't even taste it!

Recent Buys:  Torani Sugarfree Syrups in Coconut & Sea Salted Caramel, which I love to put in my protein shakes. Several cute pairs of Betsy Johnson earrings, even though I already have 20 something pairs already. Ohh, and I finally, finally bought a Mia Clarasonic facial cleaner, I swear my skin is glowing!

Thankful For: Quiet Nights In after having company last week, and Adam being out of town over the weekend. Getting into bed early most nights. Reading on my lunch break. My little commute to and from work, which gives me time to disconnect from work and clients and get in the home state of mind.

Excited About: I'm sooo excited about some upcoming events & trips I have planned in the next couple of months.  I am heading off to a Scentsy convention, doing a few 5ks, going to Jackson for the famous St. Paddy's Day Parade, & most importantly, celebrating our 5 year wedding anniversary!

Watching: Right now, I'm watching the Top Chef finale. I'm a long time fan of the show, but I always find it so funny that they base the show in one city (say New Orleans), and they have the finale elsewhere (like Hawaii)! Seems needlessly complicated. I also watched two lifetime movies this weekend, Flowers in the Attic & The Lizzie Borden movie. I was so into Flowers in the Attic, but I was disappointed by Lizzie Borden. I just found it dull, and I usually LOVE true crime stories.

Listening To: Two of my favorite songs right now are Pompeii by Bastille & Woody Allen by Allo Darlin'. I also bought Passenger's CD, All the Little Lights.  Their songs are just so mellow and nice to listen to when I'm driving home from work.

Reading: I recently finished reading Killing Kennedy by Bill O'Reilly, which was so riveting. I've got a lot of weight loss memoirs on my to read list. So now I am reading Stranger Here: How Weight Loss Surgery Transformed my Body & Messed with my Head by Jen Larsen. I'm also listening to the the audiobook of the memoir Call the Midwife: A Memoir of Birth, Joy, & Hard Times by Jennifer Worth (this is the book the PBS show is based on).

Working On: Ummm, I just conquered our cabinet where we store all our plastic bags (we had tons and tons, and it was mess) by folding them into triangles (it was from this tutorial). Adam thought I was nuts for doing this, but cleaning it up made me sooo happy. I'm also going to try to transform some medicine bottles this weekend via this tutorial

Loving: My new work-out app, Runtastic. My lovely Erin Condren Planner. The re-discovery of my love of refried beans (when you are on such a limited diet, it is the little things). My new Vera Bradley phone cover.

Recent Buys:  My new haircut and color was pretty pricey, so I haven't been spending hardly any money this week. But I did buy some Valentines to give to my kiddos at work, a spinning spice rack from Pampered Chef to clean up the pantry, and the movie Fiddler on the Roof.

Thankful For: Casual dress week at work due to the cold weather (yay, jeans). Adam's ability to make the perfect, singular scrambled egg. Getting into a nice, toasty warmed up car before driving anywhere. Hot showers. Long walks. And having lost a total of 41 pounds since my pre-opreative weigh in.

Excited About: I don't know if I should say excited or apprehensive. But I have booked my date for my weight loss surgery on January 8th. I am worried about being put under. I am worried about missing two weeks of work. I am worried about missing food. I am worried it won't work. I am worried I wont be able to keep the weight off. I am worried I am taking the "easy way out." I am worried about what people will think of me. I can't turn it off. Just gotta jump then fall I guess.

Watching: I have been engrossed with the Bonnie & Clyde mini series on the history channel. It kind of excites me because I saw their ambush site a few months ago! I'm such a nerd.

Listening To: I have had my own personal holiday mix playlist on heavy rotation this week. I swear I love every song on that CD, and it never gets old. I love Britney Spears new song, Perfume. I love when she does the dancey songs, but I love when she puts that raspy sound into slower songs also. And I have also been into the song, Let Her Go, by Passenger.

Reading: I have been on a non-fiction kick lately (which is typically for me). I read two books from two different sisters who lived and escaped the FLDS church under Warren Jeffs, Stolen Innocence by Elissa Wahl and The Witness Wore Red by Rebecca Musser. They were riveting and heartbreaking memoirs. Those ladies had so much courage. I have also recently started Elizabeth Smart's new book.

Eating: The other day I stopped by Isom's Orchard and bought some fresh apple cider. It is the most delicious apple cider I have ever had in my entire life.  I was at work today, thinking about how much I wanted to get home and have some apple cider!

Working On: A project I am working on for my 2014 resolutions. All shall be revealed soon enough.

Loving: My Christmas tree. Wrapping Presents. The video game, Lego Lord of the Rings, which I'm playing with Adam. And I recently watched the most beautiful documentary, The Stories We Tell.

Recent Buys:  We really haven't made any awesome purchases lately. We've mostly been saving money for our big Christmas trip to Wisconsin and our day trip to Chicago we have planned. We of course have bought a lot of Christmas gifts lately! But one thing that was given to me was the botanical effects set from Mary Kay and I love that!

Thankful For: Cozy socks. Peppermint Mochas. Fleece Pajama Pants. Having a few extra minutes to warm up the car in the morning before I have to climb inside it. Nachos from Moe's Southwest Grill. My Kindle, which reads to me while I do my paperwork. Pandora Holiday Station. And my totally supportive friends, both near and far.

Excited About: In t-minus two weeks, two of my best friends from college will be here for an all girl's weekend! We are going to see Chicago! I saw it in New York a couple of years back, but I love it so much that I can't wait to see it twice! And I seriously need some girlfriend time.

Listening To: I have recently discoverd the showtunes channel on Pandora, and I am in love! It plays songs from Broadway musicals, Glee, Pitch Perfect, and Disney movies! It even plays songs from the Sound of Music. It makes me super happy and super nostalgic.  And it sure helps the day go by faster at work when I'm into hour 3 of paperwork, and my client's haven't showed up (by the way, Adam told me he has never seen The Sound of Music. This shocks me, so I'm buying it post haste, so he can see it. And I have to ask, if your childhood occurs and you didn't watch The Sound of Music, did the childhood happen at all?).

Reading: I have been reading like crazy lately. I just finished rereading The Great Gatsby. I hadn't read that book since high school and I was so happy to report that it is honestly as good as most people think it is. Not overrated at all. After reading Gatsby, I decided I wanted to read more classic books, so now I am reading The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway.  Additionally, I'm listening to the audio book of the hilarious Jen Lancaster's My Fair Lazy: One Reality Television Addict's Attempt to Discover If Not Being A Dumb Ass Is the New Black; Or, A Culture-Up Manifesto. And because I'm totally crazy, today I started reading the true crime novel, Who Killed Betsy?: Uncovering Penn State University's Most Notorious Unsolved Crime.

Eating: I had the best meal today, when I went out with my mom for lunch. We went to I Love Sushi and got a whole bunch of sushi rolls with ginger salads, miso soup, and sesame chicken. I also tried gyoza for the first time. So delicious!

Working On: Getting my house cleaned, organized, and purged! Adam and I really got lazy this summer when we were both so tired and burnt out from working so hard. And it has really started to get to me! It is time to get back on track.

Loving:  I am only slightly obsessed with these socks.

Recent Buys:  Adam and I finally broke down a bought a fancy treadmill for our house. It was expensive, but it has been so hot outside, that working out outdoors is downright miserable. I like having the option to work out in our home, while we watch our favorite shows!  It does take up half the space in our living room though!

Thankful For: Having been in Alabama for a whole year now!  It hasn't always been easy, but I'm super happy with all the blessing and opportunities that being here has given us.

Excited About: Our reservation in March at the Inn at Woodhaven in Louisville, Kentucky. The B&B looks beautiful and the breakfast is seriously calling my name. We are staying in the Derby Room in the Carriage house.  It was supposed to be a 4th Anniversary trip, but because I got the room through living social, I couldn't get the exact dates we wanted. But March is good enough! And we are seriously excited about exploring this charming city.

Listening To: The Les Miserables Soundtrack (The Complete Symphonic Recording Version). I was so excited last year when I found out they were making a new Les Miserable movie. I saw the play Les Miserables in 2004 on New Year's Eve in London, so it holds a special place in my heart. I have already seen the new movie twice, and the soundtrack has been on repeat in my car and on my walks.

Reading: The Pact by Jodi Picoult. It is sad, but an interesting read about a a teenage couple who seemingly enter into a suicide pact, that goes wrong, and only one person ends up dead, and the other ends up on trial for murder.

Eating: I am obsessed with homewrecker burritos from Moe's Southwestern grill. I love to go there during my lunch break, And unfortunately I think the staff is starting to recognize me. Which for some reason really makes me anxious. I hate when restaurants start recognizing me.

Working On: Restarting my 5k training. I'm doing the Color Run 5k in March in Jackson, Mississippi. I'm really hoping this will be the race I can run the entire thing. The cool thing about this race is we are all going to get color bombed every few miles.  SO excited, SO nervous.

Loving:  These prints from Exploding Dog, there is something about the simplicity of them that I really appreciate.

Researching (for fun):  I've fallen in love with Hadley Hemmingway (Ernest Hemmingway's first wife) after reading The Paris Wife & Paris Without End. I've been scouring the net for anything on her and have been gawking at the vintage black and whites images of her. She intrigues me.

Thankful For: The fact that the holidays are over. I love them, I really do. But there is something about getting back into a routine that is pretty comforting and welcome after all the chaos and heticness of the holidays.
