#100 Happy Days-The Week that Was

This weekend has been a rough one folks. I've been sick again like I was last month (ugh). Which at times, has left me feeling depressed because I can't get out and do anything (So lame). But I am feeling better now, so we will see how the week goes. There were some positives this weekend: the Packer's blew out the Panthers, I beat a really hard level in the Lion King game Adam bought me (that I had as a child), and Adam has been taking such great care of me (best husband ever).

Here is the week that was Oct 11th-Oct 18th:

Day 85-I stayed home under our cozy Packer's blanket for the game. Some Sunday mornings, there is nothing better than staying home and watching some football.

Day 86-I picked up some Halloween Pencils to give out to the kiddos I work with as treats instead of candy. I would eat the candy! I also put out some other office Halloween decor.

Day 87- So digging Taylor Swift's new song. But don't I always love her stuff?

Day 88-One of my favorite shows is back on! I love my Top Chef  Wednesday.

Day 89-Everyone can keep their pumpkin spice lattes, I'm getting my fall fix with Caramel Apple Pie Greek yogurt.

Day 90-I went out to eat at P.F. Changs after a Doctors appointment with my mother. It was nice to see they painted their horse statue pink for breast cancer awareness month.

Day 91-Adam and I typically put on Golden Girls as background noise late on Saturday nights. They make us laugh.

The Week that Was-#100 Happy Days

After this week, I have TWO count them TWO WEEKS of this 100 happy days project left. I'm getting there, ever so slowly. I was looking back at my first weeks, and I can't believe I started doing this back in August, when I was at the beach. It seems so long ago.

Here is the week that was this week:

Day 78: I was looking for a warmer shirt to wear, and I decided to try on this long sleeve shirt I got two years ago at the Veteran's Day 10k.  When I got it, it didn't even come close to fitting. Now it fits perfectly! Small victories!

Day 79: Monday was Mad Hatter's Day, due to the fact that the Mad Hatter wears a hat the says 10/6. What better way to celebrate than posting a picture of this silly fellow?

Day 80-I got my October Studio Calico kit in the mail and it is so lovely.

Day 81-I have to read 25 pages in my book a day to have it finished in time for book club this month. There is no better way to get it done than sitting on the deck in Adam's Ninja Turtle Pjs, hanging with Carlee.

Day 82-Finished my run before 6:30 a.m. on Thursday. I love stepping outside when it's dark and watching the sun come up as I get my work-out in.

Day 83- My mom gifted me a pedicure for pet sitting her dog this week. So I enjoyed an hour of pampering on Friday, and I got my toes painted a lovely gold for Autumn.

Day 84- My post work-out  lunch may not look like much to others. But this toasted coconut greek yogurt mixed with cocoa roasted almonds and sugar free salted caramel syrup rocked my world today.

The Week that Was-#100 Happy Days

I think this is week 11 of my 100 happy days project! I have to say this week was harder than previous weeks. Many days I almost forgot, but I got them all in regardless, and I am determined to see this through, I'm so close.

Day 71-We are totally living for football Sundays around here. We have our beloved Packers and our Fantasy Football League, that keeps up watching football all day long! Plus, the Packers have won their last two games, so much to celebrate!

Day 72-Last weekend, Adam went to get fitted for some new shoes at fleet feet, and I bought some of the most comfortable moisture-wicking, running socks ever! I love them. They make my feet happy.

Day 73-I started my official half-marathon training! I'm so glad to be starting my training plan. I posted this picture, as I love the sentiment behind it.

Day 74-Sometimes I get so happy that we actually have a YARD to take care of, even though it is a lot of work. Just a quick shot of Adam mowing!

Day 75- I love the message my October Calender Picture is sending me, "You are exactly where you are supposed to be."

Day 76-I'm so crazy about all the Fall weather and FALLING leaves we are having lately.

Day 77-Sometimes, I feel old. Now Adam and I spend our weekends shopping at Home Improvement stores, and we do activities like hanging up blinds in the master bedroom. But I secretly kind of love it.

The Week that Was-#100 Happy Days

It took almost all week, but I am finally feeling better! I  feel like myself again, thank goodness. Tonight I even managed to go for a run! My first one in over a week. I get so nervous when I go so long between runs like that. I start to think I will lose all my fitness. I will say I felt a little clumsy out there, and I was about 20 seconds slower than usual, but I got that run behind me, so the next one will be much less nerve-wracking.  Which is good, because I start my official half-marathon training on Tuesday. I can't wait. I'm so pumped!

Now onto my 100 Happy Days for the Week:

Day 64-Sunday, I played fantasy football against Adam. I've always loved my fantasy name, The Therapist is In. I came so close to beating Adam, there was only 1 point difference between us in the end. I had it in the bag (I thought ), because my quarterback just needed to make one more completion. But then they pulled him, and put in the back-up quarter back. Grrrr. Had fun trash talking all weekend with Adam though.

Day 65-Monday, I was pleased to head out to Las Trojas Cantina for trivia night. I am even more pleased that we took 2nd place that night!

Day 66-One of my favorite artists, Lori Mckenna, released her new album, Numbered Doors, and I love it! So far, my favorite songs are Stranger in his Kiss and Good Marriage. I think she is probably the best song writer of all time.

Day 67-I had a doctor appointment for a check-up after my ER visit last weekend. So I was home by the afternoon. I was able to take an afternoon nap on a weekday. Scandalous!

Day 68-I posted a picture of Adam and I from earlier this summer in celebration of our 8 year dateiversary.  Meaning 8 years since Adam asked me to be his girlfriend. We have been going strong ever since.

Day 69-I spent a little time organizing my Project Life stuff in my craft room. Having a craft room makes me so happy, I can't wait to paint it the colors I am envisioning.

Day 70-My Disney obsession continues to grow strong. I was able to pick up Mulan at a local used movie store. Total score.

The Week that Was-#100 Happy Days

I have had a rough few days. I've been very sick and not the type of sick I really feel comfortable with sharing on the blog. It is all very mortifying and personal. But I'll just say this week has involved no sleep, two sick days, and an early morning trip to the E.R. But even with all that, Adam and I can find ways to laugh about it all. As I was sitting in this hospital, Adam was all like, "how are you going to scrapbook this one?" And I said, "somethings just aren't scrapbook worthy." Unless maybe I used these Project Life Cards:

But I tried to find the happy things anyway, so here is the week that was September 14th-September 20th:

Day 57-After my race on Saturday morning, I got to add my new race bib to my bibfolio that I got a few months ago from gone for a run! Always a proud moment.

Day 58-Now that I have lost weight, I am always cold. Monday morning at the office, I felt like I was going to get frostbite. Of course, my space heater is broken. So I temporarily borrowed one from a coworker while she was out of the office. That borrowed heat felt so wonderful!

Day 59-I couldn't sleep Monday night/Tuesday morning, and I woke up super early for no reason at all! So I decided to knock my run out for the day. I actually really enjoyed running the neighborhood at that time. It was so quiet and peaceful with the moon and stars overhead.

Day 60-Yes, I am obsessed with yet another Disney podcast. I can't help it, it is a sickness. But I'm truly loving Inside the Magic right now.

Day 61-Book club night! I almost didn't make it because I wasn't feeling well, but it wasn't that bad at the time, so I went. I always love meeting up to talk about a book I recently read.

Day 62-Oh yes, the morning of the ER visit.  I really had to think hard about what I was happy about that day. I decided I was happy because I got to watch a Below Deck marathon on T.V., I was wearing my leopard slipper boots, and my husband works at home, so he could take really great care of me.

Day 63-I took a bath in our whirlpool tub. I also had bought some bubble bath, and the bubbles went crazy when I turned on the jets. They kept growing and growing, and I had to do the bath without the jets due to the total bubble take over. I enjoyed the bath in my ocean of bubbles though!

The Week That Was-#100 Happy Days

Another week, another 100 happy days post complete! I am pretty sure I'm going to pull this baby off! So here is the week that was September 7th-September 13th:

Day 50-I worked on some recent Project Life pages. Man, I'm loving my new scrapbookin' medium!

Day 51-It is funny because when I posted this picture of me driving home, I posted the comment, "It has been a long, bad day, so I'm celebrating heading home." I don't even remember what was bad about it, must not have been that big of a deal?

Day 52-I got my run done on my lunch break. Even though I get a little sweaty, I love when I'm done working out before the work day is over. So when I'm home, I can just relax.

Day 53-I almost ALWAYS bring my lunch to work nowadays. It is easier, and it is safer for me nutrition wise. But I decided to treat myself to some broccoli and cheese soup Wednesday from Panera. Yum.

Day 54-I pulled out my WDW Countdown app to see how far away we were from Disney! I got so excited, and then freaked out because I have to run a half marathon by this date!

Day 55-I rocked out my college pride with this t-shirt on Friday! I love my alma mater, Mississippi University for Women, so very much.

Day 56-Adam bought a whole bunch of Atari games (yes, we have an atari)! He was in video game heaven, it was cute to see.

The Week that Was-#100 Happy Days

I hope everyone has had a good weekend, we have had a really low key and simple weekend. The kind that is so good for relaxing. We went out to breakfast, did a little shopping, took naps, saw the best movie (The Hundred Foot Journey), and we were total couch potatoes.

Today we are just doing some chores around the house, doing laundry, and watching football all day long! I'm so into my fantasy football team this year, and I am hoping to pull off a win today. I really love our fantasy football league by the way, the trash talk is SUPERB.

Now onto my #100happydays from the week. I'm really happy that I am halfway through this challenge already! Who knows I might even manage to finish it (knock on wood).

Day 43-Just a simple shot of the beautiful pond taken when I was at the Botanical Gardens last weekend for Alice's Garden of Wonders.

Day 44-We took Adam's family to Franklin, Tennessee, to tour The Carnton Plantation and Confederate Cemetery. We enjoyed that day so much, I will posting pictures soon!

Day 45-I recently started reading a biography about Walt Disney called The Animated Man. I am liking it so far, and it is giving me a greater respect for the art of animation.

Day 46-I mentioned this in my last post, but I was listening to my favorite podcast on Wednesday and they read a comment I had left on their fan page on the podcast. Made my day!

Day 47- During group, I had my children make a pair of listening ears to remind them to be better listeners. People have been telling me to send one to Judge Judy, apparently she talks about putting on your listening ears a lot?

Day 48-I got to spend a hour shopping at my favorite store, Anthropolgie, before a doctor's appointment. It was probably for the best that I accidentally left my debit card at home.

Day 49-Adam and I went to iHop after dropping off his family at the airport this morning. I ordered off the kids menu and just had a bite or two of everything. It was delicious though, and the company was not too shabby either.

The Week that Was-#100 Happy Days

I hope you guys have had an excellent holiday weekend! I know we have. And I have so much I want to share with you guys, but that comes later! For now, I want to bring you up to speed on last week's-#100 Happy Days!

Day 36-Just a little end of the day yoga. I should definitely do yoga more often because of how good it makes me feel. Yet, I always seem to forget that between sessions!

Day 37-I decided to take my lunch break at a local park. Reading my book in the sunshine was a real mood booster.

Day 38-I got the worst stomach bug last week. I managed to lose 5 lbs in 24 hours due to fluid loss. It was AWFUL. But I did find time to watch Cinderella, Gus Gus's shenanigans made the sick day so much more bearable.

Day 39-I went out for sushi with my mom. This was the first sushi I've had since surgery. Usually if I try something I haven't had since surgery that I used to love, I am now unimpressed. But not with that sushi, IT WAS AMAZING.

Day 40-We drove into Huntsville to pick up Adam's Mom and Aunt from the airport. It is nice to be hosting our first guests in our new home.

Day 41-I snapped this picture and captioned it, "It's Raining, It's Pouring, and I'm about to be Snoring." Rain storms + Naps= My Happy Place.

Day 42-Adam picked up these movies for me from the local flea market. I love him, he so gets me!

The Week that Was-#100 Happy Days

Day 29- And yet another sneak peak into my nautical themed guest room, I'm telling you that room makes me so freakin' happy. It is the first room fully designed by me. I just need a few more finishing touches before I can call it done and move on to the next project, the hobby room.

Day 30-That was one hot day, so I did a brisk walk on the treadmill just to get a little activity into my day. I did so while watching Orange is the New Black. I just can't get enough of that show.

Day 31-I fell in love with Taylor Swift's new song Shake it Off. It is somewhat cheesy but it is super, super catchy as well.

Day 32-My first run in the new neighborhood in my mismatched socks (that is just how I roll). I'm so glad that the streets are wide enough here that I can safely avoid traffic. I'm loving the 0.5 mile loop I can do around the block. All our neighbors are so friendly and well, neighborly. So much better than our insane apartment neighbors.

Day 33-I really have grown to love my morning protein shakes. I'm always trying to come up with new combinations. This week I've been doing a chocolate pistachio shake.  Yum.

Day 34-There is nothing better at the end of the day then changing into my pajamas and leopard slipper boots.

Day 35-I got out and did a morning race. I even managed to beat my fastest 5k time. That was definitely a wonderful personal victory.

The Week that Was-#100 Happy Days

This weekend has been great, but it has been entirely too short.  Isn't it always? Friday night, we kicked it off by going to see The Guardians of the Galaxy, we both really enjoyed it, it was so funny. Saturday, we drove to Huntsville to go out to eat and do a little shopping. We got some new curtains for the living room, since the windows were curtain less and the whole neighborhood could see our business, it was kind of creeping me out. We also stopped by the local movie store, and Adam invested in a million seasons of Seinfeld, and I added to my ever growing Disney movie collection.

Other activies of the weekend include: watching  A Bug's Life, catching up with my DVR, and putting together our nautical themed guest room. It is looking amazing by the way! Once I finish with it, I will be so excited to share!

Onto #100 Happy Days-The Week that was August 10th-August 16th:

1. Day 22
I spent Sunday putting all my new prints into frames, this is part of the Nautical room, I mentioned before.

2. Day 23
Our family friend bought us a gorgeous new table for our breakfast nook. I am lovin it so much! You know this is the first proper table we have had in our entire time living together! We are growin up, y'all.

3. Day 24
Everyday after work, Adam has been relaxing by enjoying our new basketball hoop. Sometimes I join him, it is a fun way to be a little active at the end of the day.

4. Day 25
I have recently starting watching Orange is the New Black. Why in the world did I wait so long? That show is so awesome! I know I am going to be sad when I finish with season 2, as I will have to wait so long for season 3.

5. Day 26
Yes, it took me this long to switch to August on my work calendar. But I am in deep like with the photo this month.

6. Day 27
We finally turned in the keys to our apartment the other day. Seeing it empty and looking just like it did the day before we moved in was a bittersweet moment for me. It is always hard for me to say goodbye when we leave a place. That apartment was chocked full of 2 years of memories.

7. Day 28
We have been house sitting our favorite house guest, Carlee, this weekend. She has been cracking us up. We can see cows from our backyard, and she keeps running over to the fence to bark at them like she is big and bad. Is that cow was to challenge her what could she possibly do about it?

The Week That Was-#100 Happy Days

It has been one hectic weekend everyone, and I am exhausted. We have spent almost every waking moment moving stuff from the apartment to the new house. Although to be honest, it has mostly been Adam doing all the heavy lifting. I have been slowly unpacking boxes and making our wonderful new home, more us.  Of course, there has been some hiccups along the way. Our queen box spring wouldn't fit up our staircase, so we had to purchase a split queen box spring that won't be delivered until Thursday, so we have yet to be able to share a bed in our new home. It is kind of like we are camping. But we are so happy to be here that it just doesn't matter!

There is so much stuff I want to blog about and I will soon, but right now all I have energy for is my weekly #100 Happy Days post!

So here is the week that was August 3rd-August 9th, 2014:

Day 15-We arrived at the beach! Everyone wanted to go out to eat on our first night, and all I wanted to do was go to the beach! But alas we went out to eat, and it was dark when we got home, so I only had time to grab a picture of the beach access sign! I was just so happy to be on the gulf coast!

Day 16- I finally got my beach time. Is there anything better than sitting in the sand, watching the waves, and soaking up the sun. I think not. I love all things sunshine, salt water, and sunscreen.

Day 17: We took the whole gang out to play putt putt! One of our favorite group activities. You can barely see my niece Cassie in this shot, but I wanted to capture the Volcano in the background. That thing kept erupting and scaring us all.

Day 18:  We had a quick and fun road trip back to Athens. We love the time we get to spend together on road trips.  I snapped this shot when we were only a mile from home.

Day 19: I had a really busy day back to work. But one of my favorite moments of most days is catching up with one of my best friends via text in the evenings!

Day 20: Friday was moving day! It was so exciting to drive to our new home instead of the apartment that evening. It felt oh so good! We also had Carlee for the evening, so it was fun to have a house guest on our first night.

Day 21:  I was just barreling down the highway, when my tire blew! That totally could make a #100unhappydays list. But I have Triple AAA to rescue me when my husband has no transportation to save me. So triple AAA made my happy.  I love triple AAA, they have rescued me so many times!  So the bright side is I have a new tire I guess? To go with the two tires we had to buy last year when I blew them out?

The Week That Was-#100 Happy Days

I'm blogging tonight from my very comfortable bed, in our very beautiful bedroom, in our beautiful condo, in beautiful Orange, Beach, Alabama. I'm so happy to be on vacation with my family, and I am praying for sunny weather all week long! I hope y'all are having an equally amazing weekend whether you are on vacation or not!

Here is my 100 happy days post for the week of July 27th, 2014-August 2nd, 2014.

Sunday, I spent the morning hanging out at the local water park. I even got the courage up to ride the big water slide! That was wild and fun! Yes, that is me gliding on the water.

Browsing the web while watching reality TV is my absolute favorite way to spend the evening after a long day at work!

After sitting at my desk for several hours, I was feeling sluggish. So I took a brisk walk at a nearby park during my lunch break. It really did help me get energized for the rest of the day.

Thursday nights are for trivia! It seems trivia either goes one of two ways, we start out strong and tank it at the end. Or we start out awful and pull off a win. Too bad, this was one of the start off strong nights. Still fun though.

We have been spending every evening this week taking loads and loads of boxes to the new house. Friday, I spent a couple of hours setting up our new kitchen, which I'm head over heels in love with, in case you were wondering.

And of course for my Saturday picture, I had to do a "I'm on a road trip to the beach," selfie.  Adam had no idea I took this, therefore he looks none too pleased.

The Week that Was-#100 Happy Days

Ok, I've decided to give this 100 happy days  meme that has been going around instagram for months now a try. I want to do it as a way to document some small things I'm grateful for everyday. I am terminally bad about completing these photo a day challenges. Typically, I will be sitting on the couch about to go to bed, only to realize I didn't take a picture, and then be too tired to complete the task. But I am going to give it my best shot, so here is the week that was July 20th, 2014 through July 26th, 2014.

Day 1-Adam and I went for a pitch black trail walk. It was super dark and creepy at times, I kept feeling like we might end up on a Dateline special (I watch entirely too much true crime in general). Once I was convinced two eyes were staring at me, glowing, ready to devour me. But it turned out to be two conveniently placed lightening bugs. Disaster averted. After our walk, we went to sonic so we could get some slushies!

Day 2-Of course, I already blogged about closing on our house here. But this was truly the best part of that epic day. Sitting outside our front house, owning the keys, with our sold sign on our lap. Such an epic moment.

Day 3-I've added a little yoga into my workout routine. I started with an easy 20 minute video for complete beginners. I'm completely lovin' it. I find it so relaxing and the deep stretching feels so good. I could see myself really getting into yoga.

Day 4-Now that summer camp is over, I have to stop wearing shorts and t-shirts to work. But none of my old work wardrobe fits, so I went clothes shopping on my lunch break, and I picked up a few key pieces. Clothes shopping is a lot more fun now that I'm smaller. I still don't enjoy spending money on clothes though, I'd much rather spend money on home decor.

Day 5-We took our summer camp to Chuck E' Cheese. I'm rather a big fan of Chuck E' Cheese day. The kids are pretty good at entertaining themselves, and I was even able to play a few games too! But is Chucky not a little bit creepy?

Day 6-Our last day of Summer Camp this year was Friday. All of our helpers and all our children were crying, even our "tough" kids. I think the kids had a really fun summer this year, although that is not the point of a "therapy" camp. Earlier in the week, the children were asked to write a little bit about what they learned from camp. This response warmed my heart because this is what camp is truly all about.

Day 7- We spent 5 hours taping off our guest room and painting our guest room. We took it from a BRIGHT, shiny blue to a more matte, darker blue. It turned out really well, and I will share more about that later in the week.
